Thirty years of showing up and solving it
We started in 1992 with one van, a set of sprayers and a simple conviction: pest control done carefully works, and pest control done carelessly is theft with extra steps.
Our story
The company grew the slow way: job by job, referral by referral. Early on we learned the lesson that still shapes everything we do, which is that most callbacks are caused not by bad products but by skipped steps. The technician who does not find the second nest, the barrier with a half-metre gap, the bait placed where the light is instead of where the pest is.
So we built the company around removing those skipped steps. Structured training instead of learning on the customer's property. Written treatment specifications instead of habits. Service records instead of memory. Three decades later, those habits have carried us from single home treatments to fumigation contracts, multi-site commercial programmes and everything between.
Today The Fumigators operates as part of the Securekil Pest Management group, with technician teams serving homes, hotels, factories, hospitals and farms. The vans are newer. The conviction has not changed.
Mission
To protect the health, property and peace of mind of the people we serve through precise, honest, professional pest management.
Vision
To be the company people recommend without hesitation when someone they care about has a pest problem, because our work speaks before our marketing does.
In numbers
In operation since 1992. Tens of thousands of homes protected, thousands of businesses on scheduled programmes, and a technician team trained entirely in-house.
The people behind the vans
Real photography is on its way. Until then, meet the four teams every job passes through.
The rules we work by
Do it once, do it right
A treatment that has to be repeated because it was rushed is not cheaper for anyone. We plan, apply and verify so the job holds.Say what we will do, then do it
Scope, method and expected outcome are agreed before work starts. If something on site changes the plan, you hear it from us first.Respect the property
We drill where drilling is needed and nowhere else, protect furnishings during work, and leave a site as tidy as we found it.Keep learning
Products, resistance patterns and methods change. Our training programme changes with them, every year, without exception.Technician training and certification
Nobody treats a customer property alone until they have completed our internal certification: classroom study in pest biology and product chemistry, supervised field rotations across every service line, and a practical assessment signed off by a senior technician.
Training does not stop at certification. Technicians attend refresher sessions as products and methods evolve, and fumigation work is carried out only by licensed fumigators operating under the strict protocols that class of work demands.
Eco-conscious methods
Modern pest control is precise, and precision is what protects the environment. We favour targeted baiting over blanket spraying, secured stations over open placements, and products chosen for low impact on non-target species. Larvicides used in water are selected for their safety profile around fish and wildlife, and application rates never exceed the label, because the label is the law and also the science.
Quality assurance, in practice
- Written treatment specifications for every service line
- Service records issued after every visit, listing products and rates
- Random post-treatment quality checks by senior technicians
- Follow-up visits built into programmes that need them, such as bedbug work
- A retreatment policy we put in writing, not in fine print
- Customer feedback reviewed monthly and fed back into training
