Consumables are where fly control quietly fails. A glue board loses its tack as it fills with dust and grease long before it looks full, and a trap with a saturated board is an expensive light fitting. The same is true of ultraviolet tubes, which keep lighting well after their output has dropped below the level that attracts anything.
Both are scheduled items rather than replace-on-failure items. Buying in quantity and changing on a date is cheaper over a year than reacting to a rising fly count.
