A 40-room hotel clears bedbugs without closing a single night
A beachfront hotel discovered bedbugs in three rooms during peak season, with a full house booked for weeks ahead. Closing rooms meant lost revenue and cancellation chains.
The hotel called us the morning a guest reported bites. Working with the front office, we sequenced treatment around checkouts: affected rooms and every adjoining room were treated the same day, using methods that allowed rooms back into inventory within hours rather than days.
Housekeeping staff received a 45-minute briefing on early detection, and mattress encasements were installed across the affected wing. A follow-up treatment fourteen days later intercepted the hatch cycle, and monitoring traps confirmed the wing stayed clear.
The hotel adopted our quarterly monitoring programme afterwards. In the following year, two early detections by trained housekeepers were resolved with single-room treatments before any guest was affected.
